Group Purchasing

ROi’s Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) is the fifth largest in the nation by purchasing volume ($670 million), and tenth by membership (1,400 members), according to Modern Healthcare magazine.

ROi helps healthcare providers realize savings and efficiencies by aggregating purchasing volume and using that leverage to negotiate with manufacturers, distributors and other vendors for the best product at the best price. We provide unmatched savings and value through our comprehensive suite of contracting services, including:

  • Supply, pharmaceutical and capital equipment contracting – Go beyond traditional group purchasing strategies to realize measurable savings to your supply/equipment budget.
  • Contract compliance and monitoring – Obtain timely feedback on regulatory compliance by virtually any key variable in the sourcing equation and develop strategies to improve areas of non-conformance.
  • Pricing administration - Benefit from ROi’s industry experts and data-driven process to define, enforce and monitor pricing throughout the term of the contract.
  • Rebate management – Uncover savings opportunities by tracking real-time purchasing activity against contract terms.
  • Member services – Stay apprised of ROi’s efforts to reduce costs or improve the service provided through our contracted vendors or other services controlled through ROi.

ROi has one of the highest levels of compliance of any GPO in the nation. Current contract compliance on medical supplies exceeds 80%. Based on health industry figures, ROi leads GPOs nationally with the largest contracted dollars per hospital member.

To achieve these results, we employ three key components:
  • Comprehensive contracting portfolio - ROi provides contract coverage for the full range of items purchased by providers, including capital equipment, non-medical, medical, pharmacy and surgical supplies.
  • Clinical involvement - Through our collaborative process, physicians, clinicians, hospital leaders and other purchasing decision-makers are united to provide input on selection of products to achieve the highest quality at the best price.
  • Direct contracting - ROi seeks relationships with vendors who appreciate the value of a very efficient selling process and who demonstrate the highest degree of product quality, service and value for its members.
