With a heritage rooted in healthcare delivery, ROi is uniquely positioned to understand and meet the needs of healthcare providers.

Our History

The seeds of ROi were planted in the late 1990s by the Sisters of Mercy Health System (Mercy), an integrated health system comprised of several hospitals, clinics and a health plan. Like many other health entities, Mercy utilized the traditional supply chain model, which was fragmented and duplicative, and depended upon outside distributors and GPOs for its supply chain needs.

Mercy realized that operational, financial, and ultimately, clinical success would require a more integrated and unified approach. In 2002, the Health System established ROi as an operating division of Mercy. This was done to take control of and refine the supply chain model and to improve the way Mercy managed its resources – specifically, how it purchased, distributed and used supplies and equipment, and how it managed associated work processes.

Working side-by-side with clinicians in Mercy’s hospitals and clinics, ROi quickly developed a new innovative business model that allowed Mercy to take greater accountability for the complete supply chain. In fact, Mercy Meds, one of the most significant patient safety initiatives in the industry, was born out of ROi’s innovative approach to linking supply chain to improved patient safety.

Since our inception, ROi has developed an industry-wide reputation for innovative, technology-driven, results-oriented approaches to improving supply chain performance. We now apply these same tools and philosophies to increase efficiency in other healthcare organizations.

As the number of challenges facing healthcare systems continues to grow, ROi is taking our hard earned experience in healthcare supply chain and making it available to other healthcare providers. Through the efforts of an experienced healthcare supply chain team, we work to help providers achieve greater success in managing the complicated and costly world of the healthcare supply chain.
