ROi Earns PayStream Advisors' "Healthcare Procure to Pay Management Excellence" Award

ROi (Resource Optimization & Innovation), ranked by Gartner (formerly AMR Research) as one of the top three global supply chain organizations in health care, has been selected by PayStream Advisors as the 2011 recipient of the "Healthcare Procure to Pay Management Excellence" award. The award is given each year to a health care organization that demonstrates excellence in purchase to pay automation.

Curtis Dudley, ROi's Vice President of Integrated Business Solutions, accepted the award at the 2011 PayStream Summit, attended by more than 100 accounts payable and finance professionals across multiple industries. Dudley presented a case study on best-in-class metrics used to analyze, compare and project annual hospital supply expenses.

"Our Advisory Board was impressed with ROi's leadership and innovation in the health care industry, specifically their achievement of the Perfect Order and end-to-end integration," said PayStream Advisors' Managing Director Henry Ijams. "We are proud to present ROi with this award."

ROi, which was founded in 2002 by Mercy, became the first in the nation to implement end-to-end - from manufacturer to patient bedside - GS1® Standards to achieve Perfect Order with trading partner BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company). ROi's end-to-end data standard integration represents the first time a U.S. health care provider used GS1's Global Location Number (GLN) and Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) in both supply chain and clinical processes, achieving fully automated and accurate electronic processing of order transactions known as the Perfect Order.

Perfect Order, a standard prevalent in many industries, including retail, is defined by Strategic Marketplace Initiative (SMI) as, "a purchase order processed electronically (from order to payment) without human intervention, delivered to the correct location, on time, undamaged, at the right price, with the desired quantity, on the first attempt." This process ensures effective use of available resources by eliminating errors and maximizing the use of technology.

"We appreciate PayStream Advisors' recognition of ROi's work with data standards and the Perfect Order," said Gene Kirtser, President/CEO, ROi. "In addition to reducing the cost of the health care supply chain, our work in this area is supporting more efficient and safe patient care."
