Vance Moore Named Mercy Senior VP of Operations; Gene Kirtser Becomes President and CEO of ROi

Sisters of Mercy Health System (Mercy) and ROi(Resource Optimization & Innovation) announced today that Vance Moore, former ROi President and CEO, will assume a new position as Senior Vice President of Operations for Mercy, and Gene Kirtser, former Chief Operating Officer at ROi, will take the helm at the supply chain management company as President and CEO.

Moore's role will involve reengineering work processes across Mercy to enhance the delivery of care and services, and to manage costs. The initiative involves process improvement, product selection and creative technology application.

"We have asked Vance to apply the experience and success he has had in transforming Mercy's supply chain to other parts of Mercy. The activities that Vance will lead are critical to helping Mercy navigate the changing landscape of health care and Medicare reimbursements," said Lynn Britton, President and CEO of Mercy. Both ROi and Mercy Technology Services (MTS) will be a part of Moore's new responsibilities.

Moore led ROi, a recognized leader in the health care supply chain management industry, since 2002 and has nearly 20 years of health care and supply chain experience, including leadership roles at Baxter/Allegiance and Cardinal Health. He is a regular speaker on the topics of supply chain and health care logistics.

Kirtser previously served as chief operating officer at ROi. As president and CEO, he will lead ROi's efforts in working with progressive health care providers to create a single-source, fully integrated supply chain model that produces clinical, operational and financial value.

"For the past four years, Gene has played a critical role in driving our efforts to identify and implement innovative supply chain solutions for health care providers," Britton said. "A proven leader, Gene's expertise and extensive background will help ROi continue to transform the supply chain for health care and supply chain leaders across the country."

Kirtser's career has included senior-level roles in finance, operations, sales, marketing and business development on the supplier and provider sides of the health care industry. Prior to joining ROi, he was an executive at Baxter/Allegiance, ChoicePoint Health Systems, Maxxim Medical and SRI Surgical. Gene is an active speaker on the strategic value of the health care supply chain and the need for deeper integration and rapid industry reform.
